Run for an RHA Officer Position

Position Descriptions

RHA President:

The President of RHA oversees the overall operation of the organization. They are responsible for running meetings, overseeing the Executive Officer Team and the Board of Lead Directors, as well as assisting with RHA’s budget. The RHA President is responsible for outside communication with other organizations, students, and university staff regarding collaborative efforts, outreach, endorsements, etc. within the Division of Student Affairs.

VP of administration and finance:

The Vice President of Administration and Finance is responsible for creating and overseeing RHA’s Budget. This officer is also responsible for keeping meeting minutes, bookkeeping, documentation of all paperwork, and keeping track of RHA’s inventory and supplies.

VP of National Communications:

The Vice President of National Communications serves as the representative of OSU’s RHA at regional (SWACURH) and national (NACURH) conferences. The VP of National Communications prepares for these conferences by attending regional/national chats and selecting delegates for conferences. They also oversee the Board of Lead Directors alongside the RHA President by creating meeting agendas and implementing professional development for those individuals.

Director of Programming:

The Director of Programming oversees RHA’s Programming Board and hosts events for residents who live on campus. The Programming Board consists of 8 (eight) committee members. The Director of Programming is responsible for planning and executing events, which includes strategic planning, purchasing items, organizing activities/speakers, set-up, and clean-up. They are also responsible for running weekly meetings with the Programming Board and communicating with other organizations for collaborative opportunities.

Director of Marketing:

The Director of Marketing oversees the Marketing Committee and creates all marketing materials for RHA. The Marketing Committee consists of 8 (eight) committee members. The Director of Marketing is responsible for creating event flyers, social media, updating the RHA website, and designing RHA merchandise. They are also responsible for running weekly meetings with the Marketing Committee and delegating projects to committee members.

Director of Sustainability:

The Director of Sustainability oversees the Eco-Representatives and all sustainable efforts in RHA. The Eco-Representatives consist of 8 (eight) committee members. The Director of Sustainability is responsible for educating residents on sustainable practices, spreading information regarding OSU/ResLife sustainable programs, and hosting sustainable events for residents. They are also responsible for running weekly meetings with the Eco-Representatives and implementing sustainable projects and initiatives within the residence halls.

 

Election Timeline

  1. Feb. 12

    This is when Intents will open. See the “Intent to Run” section below for how to complete this.

  2. Mar. 3, 11:59pm

    This is when Intents will close. You MUST intend in order to run, but you do not have to run if you submit an intent but later decide you do not want the position.

  3. Mar. 24/31, 6pm

    This is when all candidates for all positions will be presenting their bids to the Board of Lead Directors. This is the actual election portion.   1. Intent to run

    Do this by selecting the button at the top of the screen and filling out the form it takes you to.

  2. Start creating your bid

    A bid is simply a PowerPoint presentation that you use to tell the voting body (the Board of Lead Directors) why you should be chosen for the position. CLICK HERE to view some examples of previous bids.

  3. Present at election night

    As stated above in the timeline section, the final step in running is the actual election process. You must be present in order to run for any position. The dress code for elections is business casual or business professional.


New Position Descriptions

Director of NRHH:

The Director National Residence Hall Honorary (NRHH) is a student-led organization dedicated to advocating for students and their interests while recognizing individuals for their contributions to the advancement of residential communities. NRHH is responsible for organizing social, recruitment, and community events, as well as honoring students through various forms of recognition, including awards and appreciation initiatives.

Director of Diversity And Inclusion:

The Director of Diversity & Inclusion oversees a committee consisting of up to eight members, which will be formed through a fair selection process with input from the RHA President and Advisor. The committee will host at least four campus-wide programs per semester and co-host one event with a cultural or special interest organization. It will establish necessary rules and seek funding through the Multicultural Affairs Committee and other sources. This initiative aims to enhance diversity and inclusion within residence halls and the OSU campus.

Director of Wellness:

The Director of Wellness oversees a committee consisting of up to eight members, which will be formed through a fair selection process with input from the RHA President and Advisor. The committee will organize at least four campus-wide programs per semester and co-host one event with a wellness-related organization. It will establish necessary rules and seek funding to support initiatives that promote wellness and mental health within residence halls and the OSU campus.
